The ringing of the church bell is a much more melodious sound than any that is heard within the church. All great values are thus public, and undulate like sound through the atmosphere. Wealth cannot purchase any great private solace or convenience. Riches are only the means of sociality….In moments of quiet and leisure my thoughts are more apt to revert to some natural than to any human relation.
